要点
数量詞はどれくらいの量かどれくらいの数かを表します：肯定文には some、否定文・疑問文には any を使い、不可算名詞には much、可算名詞には many を使います。A few／a little は「いくらか」を意味し、few／little（a なし）は「ほとんどない」を意味します。
規則
someとany。 some は肯定文で、また申し出や依頼でも使います。any は否定文やほとんどの疑問文で使います。

muchとmanyとa lot of。 Much は不可算名詞に、many は可算（複数）名詞に使います。主に否定文や疑問文で使います。肯定文では、どちらにも a lot of／lots of を使うほうが自然です。

(a) fewと(a) little。 どちらの組も「少量」を意味しますが、冠詞の有無で語感が変わります。

その他の数量詞。 too much／too many ＝欲しい以上の量（過剰）。(not) enough ＝ちょうどよい量、またはそれ以下。no＋名詞 ＝not any（There’s no bread＝There isn’t any bread）。all、most、some、no／none、every、each、both、a couple of はある集団のどれくらいの部分を指すかを表します。特定の集団を指すには、the／my／these や代名詞の前に of を加えます：some students（学生一般）ですが some of the students／most of them（そのクラス）となります。All と both は名詞の前では of を省略できますが（all (of) the shops）、代名詞の前では省略できず（both of us）、every は決してそれを取りません（every pupil）。no は名詞の直前に、none は of とともに、または単独で使います：There are no seats／None of the seats are free／I looked, but there were none。

よくある間違い
- I have any friends. -> I have some friends.：肯定文には some を使います。
- I don’t have some time. -> I don’t have any time.：否定文には any を使います。
- She has much books. -> She has a lot of／many books.：much は不可算名詞用です。肯定文では a lot of を使います。
- I have a few money. -> I have a little money.：money は不可算名詞なので、a few ではなく a little を使います。
- There aren’t no apples. -> There aren’t any apples.／There are no apples.：二重否定は使いません。no だけですでに「not any」という意味になります。
- He has too much friends. -> He has too many friends.：可算名詞の複数形には too many を使います。
ヒント
- some＝肯定的、any＝不確か・否定的。 ただし申し出や依頼では「はい」を期待するので some を使います：Would you like some cake?
- まず名詞を数えられるか確かめましょう。 数えられる（複数形にできる）なら many／a few／too many を、数えられないなら much／a little／too much を使います。
- a があると肯定的になります。 a few／a little＝「十分にある、心配ない」、few／little＝「足りない、問題がある」。
- 日常の肯定文では、a lot of／lots of が可算名詞にも不可算名詞にも使える安全な選択です。
