Futuro: «be going to»
A1 Future: be going to 18 / 50
In breve
Usa be going to + verbo alla forma base per parlare di piani decisi prima di ora, e di previsioni di cui vedi già i segni. La struttura è am/is/are + going to + base form.
La regola
Usiamo be going to in due modi principali:
-
- I’m going to study medicine. (L’ho deciso prima.)
- We’re going to paint the kitchen this weekend.
-
- Look at those clouds - it’s going to rain.
- She’s going to have a baby. (Lo vedi già adesso.)
La prima parte (am/is/are) cambia in base al soggetto.
Per fare una frase negativa, aggiungi not a be.
| Tipo | Struttura | Esempio |
|---|---|---|
| Affermativa | soggetto + be + going to + verbo alla forma base | She is going to call you. |
| Negativa | soggetto + be + not + going to + verbo alla forma base | She isn’t going to come. |
| Domanda | be + soggetto + going to + verbo alla forma base? | Are you going to help? |
Forme e strutture
| Soggetto | be | + going to + forma base |
|---|---|---|
| I | am (‘m) | going to leave |
| You / We / They | are (‘re) | going to leave |
| He / She / It | is (‘s) | going to leave |
Con there, be si accorda con il nome che viene dopo: There is going to be a delay. There are going to be delays.
Forme contratte:
| Forma piena | Breve |
|---|---|
| I am going to | I’m going to |
| He is not going to | He isn’t going to / He’s not going to |
| They are not going to | They aren’t going to / They’re not going to |
Le risposte brevi usano solo be:
| Domanda | Sì | No |
|---|---|---|
| Are you going to help? | Yes, I am. | No, I’m not. |
| Is he going to drive? | Yes, he is. | No, he isn’t. |
Nelle proposizioni con if e when, usa il Present Simple per il tempo futuro — We are going to get wet if it rains. We are going to start when everyone is here. Mantieni be going to dopo if quando la proposizione riporta un piano già fatto: If you are going to sell the piano, tell me first. In una domanda con when, diretta o indiretta, be going to è normale: When are you going to decide? (Approfondimento in Zero e primo condizionale.)

Errori frequenti
- I going to call him. -> I’m going to call him. — devi mantenere am/is/are.
- She is going to calls you. -> She is going to call you. — usa la forma base, mai -s.
- He is going to wrote a letter. -> He is going to write a letter. — forma base, non passato.
- Are you going help? -> Are you going to help? — non omettere to.
- It goes to rain. -> It is going to rain. — è be going to, non go to.
Consigli
- In un parlato veloce, going to spesso suona come «gonna» — va bene sentirlo così, ma scrivi la forma completa going to.
- Se un piano è già deciso, oppure vedi già le prove ora, scegli be going to. Se decidi mentre parli, usa will (vedi lezione 19).
- going to go e going to come sono corrette, ma spesso si abbreviano: I’m going to the cinema invece di I’m going to go to the cinema.
