B1 Future continuous & future perfect 41 / 50

FormeStructureSens
Futur en BE + -INGwill be + verb-ingEn cours à un moment futur : This time tomorrow I’ll be flying to Tokyo.
Futur antérieurwill have + past participleTerminé avant un point du futur : By 2030 they will have finished the bridge.
Futur antérieur en BE + -INGwill have been + verb-ingDurée jusqu’à un point du futur : In June I’ll have been working here for ten years.

I’ll be seeing her at the meeting anyway, so I can pass on the message.

  • By Friday I will read it. -> By Friday I will have read it. — by + un point du futur exige le futur antérieur, pas un simple will.
  • This time tomorrow I will fly to Rome. -> This time tomorrow I will be flying to Rome.
  • In June I will work here for ten years. -> In June I will have been working here for ten years. — une durée jusqu’à un point du futur exige will have been + -ing.
  • By the time you will arrive, we’ll have left. -> By the time you arrive, we’ll have left. — mettez un présent dans la proposition de temps après by the time, before, when, jamais will.
  • I will have finish it. -> I will have finished it.

Conseils

  • Devant by (une échéance) -> pensez futur antérieur : « déjà fait d’ici là ».
  • Devant une heure ou this time tomorrow -> pensez futur en BE + -ING : « en train de le faire à ce moment-là ».
  • will be -ing peut sonner plus poli/neutre que will : Will you be joining us? s’informe des projets sans insister.
  • Après une conjonction de temps — when, by the time, as soon as, before, until — enlevez le will et mettez le présent : When you finish, call me.
