A2 Phrasal verbs 29 / 50

概要

短语动词是动词 + 一个小词(也就是小品词,比如 up、on、off、after),两者合起来当作一个整体使用:get up、turn on、give up、look after。

get up起床/站起来
turn on / off开启/关闭机器
look after照顾

The car broke down.
Turn the TV on / Turn on the TV.
I look after my sister.

  • Turn on the light.(动词 + 小品词 + 名词)
  • Turn the light on.(动词 + 名词 + 小品词)

但代词宾语(it, them, him, her)必须放在中间:

  • Turn it on. ✅
  • Turn on it. ❌

  • I look after the kids. / I look after them. ✅
  • I look the kids after. ❌

  • Please sit down.
  • I woke up late.

We set off early.
Please switch off the lights.
Please switch the lights off.
Please switch them off.
She got over the flu.

动词部分会像普通动词一样随时态变化:get up -> got up,find out -> found out,take off -> took off。小品词永远不变。

例句

English说明
I usually get up at seven o’clock.
Can you turn on the heating, please?
The remote is here - turn it on.
My grandfather never gave up his dream.
Let’s put off the meeting until Friday.
She looks after her little brother after school.
Our old washing machine broke down again.
We found out the truth too late.

  • Turn on it -> turn it on——代词宾语总是放在动词和小品词之间。
  • I look my dog after -> I look after my dog——look after 是不可分的,永远不能拆开。
  • Please sit down the chair -> please sit down——sit down 不带宾语,后面什么都不加。
  • He gived up -> he gave up——动词部分要随时态变化(give -> gave);小品词不变。
  • Switch off it -> switch it off——同样的规则:it/them/him/her 都要放在中间。

如果宾语是 it, them, him, her,就把它放在两部分之间。
