Stopień wyższy i najwyższy

A2 Comparatives & superlatives 23 / 50

W skrócie

Użyj stopnia wyższego, żeby porównać dwie rzeczy (cheaper, more expensive), a stopnia najwyższego, żeby wybrać jedną z grupy (the cheapest, the most expensive). Krótkie przymiotniki dodają -er / -est; dłuższe używają more / most.

Zasada

Długość przymiotnika decyduje o formie:

Typ przymiotnikaStopień wyższyStopień najwyższy
Jednosylabowe: cheap, small, fast+ -er: cheaperthe + -est: the cheapest
Dwusylabowe zakończone na -y: happy, easy-y -> -ier: happierthe + -iest: the happiest
Kilka dwusylabowych słów: quiet, simple, narrow, clever+ -er: quieterthe + -est: the quietest
Pozostałe, dwu- i więcej sylabowe: expensive, carefulmore + przym.: more expensivethe most + przym.: the most expensive

Dla tej małej grupy more quiet też jest możliwe, ale zwykle stosuje się quieter.

Buduj porównania według tych schematów:

  • than po stopniu wyższym: Tokyo is bigger than Osaka.
  • (not) as … as przy rzeczach równych / nierównych: She is as tall as her brother.
  • the + stopień najwyższy, często z in (miejsca, grupy) lub of (zbiór/czas): the tallest in the class, the best day of the year.

Formy i schematy

Zmiany w pisowni krótkich przymiotników:

Zasada pisowniPodstawaStopień wyższyStopień najwyższy
kończy się na -e -> + -r / -stnicenicernicest
krótka samogłoska + 1 spółgłoska -> podwój jąbigbiggerbiggest
(bez zmian)hothotterhottest
kończy się na -y -> -ier / -iesthappyhappierhappiest

Przymiotniki nieregularne (naucz się ich na pamięć):

badworseworst
farfurther / fartherfurthest / farthest
littlelessleast
many / muchmoremost

Wzmocnij lub osłab porównanie za pomocą much / far / a bit / a little przed stopniem wyższym:

  • This phone is much better. (duża różnica)
  • Today is a bit colder than yesterday. (mała różnica)

Dwie zmiany zachodzące razem: the + stopień wyższy …, the + stopień wyższy …

  • The older I get, the happier I am.
  • The more you practise, the better you speak.

Przysłówki działają na tej samej zasadzie, ale zwykle przyjmują more / most:

  • Please drive more carefully.
  • She works the most efficiently in the morning.

Przykłady

EnglishUwaga
My new bike is faster than my old one.stopień wyższy + than dla dwóch rzeczy
This is the cheapest ticket in the shop.stopień najwyższy + in dla miejsca/grupy
Your bag is as heavy as mine.as … as = równość
The film was not as good as the book.not as … as = mniej (nierówność)
Summer is hotter here than in the north.podwojenie spółgłoski: hot -> hotter
She feels much better today.much + stopień wyższy = duża różnica
He is the most talented singer of them all.długi przymiotnik: the most + of
The more I read, the more I learn.powiązane stopnie wyższe = zmieniają się razem

Typowe błędy

  • more bigger -> bigger — nigdy nie łącz more z formą na -er (bez podwójnego stopnia wyższego).
  • more good / the most good -> better / the best — good jest nieregularne.
  • She is taller that me -> taller than me — w porównaniach użyj than, a nie that.
  • the most cheap -> the cheapest — przymiotniki jednosylabowe przyjmują -est, a nie most.
  • as tall than him -> as tall as him — schemat równości to as … as.

Wskazówki

  • Najpierw policz sylaby: 1 sylaba -> -er/-est; 3+ sylaby -> more/most. Dwusylabowe słowa zakończone na -y zwykle przyjmują -ier/-iest (easy -> easier), a krótka lista innych przyjmuje -er/-est (quieter, simpler).
  • Stopień wyższy łączy się z than; stopień najwyższy łączy się z the (i często in lub of).
  • Po than i as zaimek dopełnieniowy brzmi naturalnie w mowie (than me); pełne zdanie (than I am) jest bardziej formalne.
  • Zapisz sobie krótką listę form nieregularnych: good/bad/far/little/many. Nigdy nie dodają -er ani more.
